Hi, my name is May and I grow flowers with my husband Charles, our two kids, and my parents Andy and Lily. Our 3.5-acre farm is located in Goodwood, Ontario, just 45 minutes north of Toronto.
Our journey began in 2020. Amidst the lockdown, my small Toronto balcony became my sanctuary. I initially intended to grow vegetables but quickly fell in love with flowers thanks to one potted pink dahlia. It flourished through October, serving as a symbol of resilience. That dahlia gave me the confidence to dive into the art of specialty blooms, a passion fueled by Floret Farm’s Cut Flower Garden by Erin Benzakein.
As my dreams outgrew my balcony and my parents' backyard, my family remained my biggest support. Charles helped every step of the way—hauling soil, building planter boxes, and photographing our progress. In 2022, seeking room for both my floral aspirations and my parents’ vegetables, we moved to Goodwood to build the farm we had once only imagined.
I am deeply grateful for my parents, my gardening mentors. My father, a professionally trained agronomist, has been instrumental in my learning. A graduate of Yunnan Agricultural University, he also studied seed technology at the University of Queensland. His extensive knowledge, honed through years of research, has been invaluable as we work together to build our dream garden.
Today, our farm is a testament to the joy flowers bring. They are messengers of happiness and beauty, and I am honored to share that joy with you through each bloom we nurture. Thank you for joining us on this floral adventure!
